The High Line

Description from Wikipedia: The High Line is a 1-mile (1.6 km) New York City linear park built on a 1.45-mile (2.33 km) section of the former elevated freight railroad spur called the West Side Line, which runs along the lower west side of Manhattan; it has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway. The High Line Park currently runs from Gansevoort Street, one block below West 12th Street, in the Meatpacking District, up to 30th Street, through the neighborhood of Chelsea to the West Side Yard, near the Javits Convention Center.

I saw a segment on a tv show (can't remember which show) about the High Line and it seemed like such a cool place to visit. New York City is pretty well known as a 'concrete jungle' so finding a natural setting amongst the grey is quite unique and special (besides Central Park). Roy and I took the subway up to the Chelsea District and before too long we came across some stairs to take us above the bitumen to a wild and natural place, suitable for a stroll.

  1. Awesome! I've heard this talked about on RN. Couldn't remember what it was called though when I thought to google it. Thanks Tiffa :)
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
