Hike

A few weeks ago, the weather was beautiful and Roy and I didn't want to waste a nice sunny day so we decided to head outside into nature and see what the Swiss, summer wilderness had to offer us. Roy checked out the handy hiking map website and found a nice path for us to follow. Switzerland is FULL of great hiking paths and they are all very conveniently signed so people don't get lost. There was definitely no shortage of wilderness on this hike. It started with a nice gander at the Llama's - I think they were doing most of the gandering though.

Okay, so they weren't wild.. but there were quite a few of them. There's no shortage of farm animals around since majority of the hiking paths cross through farmland. They seem to optimise their space well over here. There's even farms and orchards underneath motorway overpasses and on/off ramps.

It's really nice walking amongst the trees and rolling, green hills. You don't have to go very far to get away from the cars and bustle from everyday live in Switzerland. Most people here are into outdoor activities. There's always hordes (not over-crowded though) of people outside hiking, windsurfing (yep, windsurfing) on the many lakes or paragliding. There's definitely no shortage of adventure here!

St-Maurice

We were super excited when we came across heaps and heaps of wild strawberry plants on our path. They were quite delicious!

They tasted a lot like Strawberry flavoured Nerds. Yum!
