Time for a bit of a catch up.

It's been a while. I find myself putting off blogging more and more these days. It's not for lack of content because we've been pretty busy but I guess it's lack of motivation to document our happenings. I'd like to think that I'm just having too much fun doing these things, but to be truthful, it's just because I'm lazy. So I'm going to do my best to catch up on the last few months. I've put on some motivation music - listening to a playlist on 8tracks.com which unfortunately, is currently playing an Enrique Iglesias song. Okay, I'm changed the playlist to something a little more up beat and a little less... Enrique.

After we arrived back in Martigny from our stay in the Netherlands, we had a week of our good friends Mitch, Lu and their cute-as-ever baby Oliver staying with us while Mitch and Roy attended a workshop at IDIAP. Then they drove back to the Netherlands and then took off to Australia to spend Christmas with their family. Roy and I took off to the UK to spend Christmas with his sister and her wife in their lovely new house. We had a really nice time with them, hanging out and experiencing Christmas in England. I was in my element wandering the aisles of the supermarkets checking out what treats we could buy. One of my favourite things about the UK is the food. Everything is so well packaged with great labels saying what kind of allergens or animal products are in them. It makes food exciting - well for me anyway.

On boxing day, we all piled in the car and drove to Wales to visit family for couple of nights. While we were there we checked out St Fagans National History Museum and lucky for us, we were granted a day of beautiful weather - cold, but beautiful. It was such a nice open air museum to just wander around and I can imagine it would be a really nice place to go in summer for a picnic.

Unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to have a white Christmas in the UK but we did get to check out some really nice places. We went to Stratford-upon-Avon where William Shakespeare was born. We wandered around town looking for places where the famous poet and playwright might have been. It's always hard for me to comprehend the reality of visiting places like that. I find it hard realising that I was standing in a place that someone so famous once stood so long ago.

We had a really nice time spending Christmas in UK with family. It's probably one of my favourite places to visit. It has this certain charm that draws me in each time we go there. Well, possibly the Vegetarian Percy Pig lollies draw me in too. They're really good!
